50. Kalachakra Mandala
Style: All-Color (tson-thang)

Kalachakra means Time Wheel. The Time Wheel is believed to be a teaching by Sakyamuni Buddha taught to a few of his disciples. Seven circles surround the palace in the middle of the mandala. From the outside in, there is a multi-colored ray of light, a row of vajras signifying a protection fence, a black wind, a red fire, a white water, a yellow earth, and Mount Meru.

The palace has five squares representing body, speech, mind, wisdom, and great bliss. The symbolism here is a visual representation of the complete teachings of a tantra.
